Reimagined. Reinvented. Reinvigorated. Saly G’s Mountaintop Restaurant and Tavern is back to business in Warren, and it’s far from just a reopening!
Since 2010, Saly G’s has been one of the premier dining spots not only in Warren, but all of central New Jersey. Owner and Executive Chef Joe Gramaglia – of the famous Gramaglia family, who also owns and operates the A&G Fine Italian Food Store, also in the Pheasant Run shopping center – kept the hidden-but-not-secret jewel relevant even through the tumultuous days of 2020. Now Saly G’s is into the next chapter of its ongoing success story, opening its doors again after a month-long pause for renovations.
“When you come back to Saly G’s, you’ll find almost everything up front has changed,” says Joe. “Flooring, lighting, the bar area – the entire front of the house has been updated and modernized. It’s got a very chic New York City feel that’s really unlike anything else in the area.”
The design is Joe’s own, and the Saly G’s menu continues to feature Gramaglia family classics served in an atmosphere that feels like home. The Saly Ge’s experience centers on generous
portions of incredible food: grass-fed Filet Mignon, Strip Steaks, and Ribeyes – all from prime center cuts hand-picked and trimmed in-house. Veal chops, pork chops, and an amazing assortment of poultry and seafood selections round out the menus, along with Truffle Gnocchi, Pasta Alla Norma and more hand-made pasta masterpieces. The fully stocked bar features an excellent selection of high-end scotches, grappa, more than twenty craft beers and a remarkable wine list. Not to mention an outstanding lineup of dessert options and port wines to cap off your evening!
Joe is coming up on the one-year-anniversary of his big win on “Chopped,” Food Network’s smash reality cooking show hit. “That was a crazy, exciting experience,” he says. “Everything you saw on the show was real, including the pressure. The whole thing was unforgettable.”
The year before, Joe had also represented Warren at the New Jersey Wine and Food Festival at the Crystal Springs Resort in Sussex County. He and his entire family know great food (he’s trained with the best but cut his teeth learning from true Italian masters – his parents!), and when you walk into Saly G’s, you’re instantly made to feel like part of that family. “We’ve got a great support system here in Warren,” he said as the pandemic lockdowns were ending last year. “The community has always been here for us.”
Now his family’s establishment has a stylish new look to unveil to that community!
