Realtor's Showcase: Selling Your Home? What Do Buyers Want?

Today’s buyers look at the home purchase as an investment, not just a place to live and enjoy. Of course, they seek the lowest price, but buyers’ priorities are changing. Usable living space has taken center stage. In other words, many buyers now seek larger bedrooms, or even a fifth bedroom instead of the more dramatic elegance of the 2-story entry or 2 story family room. This is due to the fact that many buyers today want to buy a single family home where they start their family, and see their kids grow up. As the kids head for college, people begin to downsize. So buyers are trending towards buying one larger home if they can afford it, instead of purchasing a starter home now and trading up to a larger home later. Reasonably low mortgage rates, dual income households, and the imperative to save for their kids’ college is contributing factors for this trend. Traditional home styles such as the center hall colonial, split level, and bi-level are enjoying renewed popularity as a result.

On The Record In NYC: The McKittrick Hotel

Tickets to a Broadway show can really break the bank. 'Hamilton' tickets even went as high as $10,000 for Lin-Manuel Miranda’s last performance, according to CNN Money. Luckily, there are plenty of other affordable acts New York City has to offer that won’t break the bank. The McKittrick Hotel’s steady rotation of eclectic performances will also leave you with money for cab fare!

Located at the base of the Chelsea High Line, the former warehouse does not actually serve as a place for guests to stay the night. Instead, The McKittrick Hotel is an interactive live theater in a 5-story pseudo-hotel. The venue is filled with elusive rooms, attentive staff, a rooftop bar, and a restaurant. They are best known as the home of the interactive theatre experience 'Sleep No More'. 'Sleep No More' is The McKittrick Hotel’s long-standing show based on the Shakespeare's 'Macbeth.' Guests are greeted with masks and, for two hours, spend the experience exploring several floors of curated spaces.

Wise Words & Witty Expressions: The Power of Irish Wisdom

After a long and arduous winter, finally, spring has arrived! With the promise of warmer weather, the budding of flowers and a return of happily chirping birds, we look forward to long sunny days and an overall easier way of living. Winter coats, boots, hats and gloves are no longer necessary just to step outside. No more concern for icy roads and walkways. No more back-breaking snow shoveling chores and no more bone-chilling mornings that turn into short days, as night arrives early forcing temperatures even lower.

It is a wonder that once the bad weather departs and the more inviting weather arrives, we are able to easily transition from one season to the next. We are unencumbered by the change and indeed welcome it. We begin to forget the daily challenges of living through an unyielding winter season and simply bask in the gifts of spring.
