“AUTUMN, THE YEAR’S LAST, LOVELIEST SMILE” ~ WILLIAM CULLEN BRYANT

How lucky are we to be living in the part of the country where we get to experience all four seasons! Autumn, being a favorite with so many, brings all the feels, with “Back to School”, fall activities, vibrant displays of color and the promise of change. As this season unfolds, we welcome readers to The Showcase Magazine’s Fall/Back to School issue, filled with new opportunities and inspiration.

As autumn arrives, we invite you to pause and appreciate “Perky,” our vibrant front cover painting created by our featured artist, Laura Gable, and explore the best of our LOCAL businesses and professionals, all highlighted within these pages.

With cooler temperatures, dining al fresco becomes an inviting option. Our comprehensive “Dining, Shopping & Special Events” section Showcases fall comfort foods from a variety of restaurants, ensuring that everyone can find a taste to savor. During the busy Back to School period, local eateries present stress-free solutions for family dinners, whether dining in or taking out. The abundance of LOCAL choices makes mealtime both easy and enjoyable, making every meal an opportunity to celebrate the tastes of autumn.

Speaking of fall dining, now in its ninth year, Berkeley Heights Restaurant Month returns from September 1st to 30th. With twenty local eateries participating, residents and visitors alike can look forward to a month-long culinary exploration with a variety of cuisines to enjoy.

This Fall, The Showcase Magazine introduces an array of new and returning advertisers for all your seasonal needs, including retail therapy, event planning, renovations, and health and beauty services. Make the most of the merchants featured in this edition and consider this issue your essential “Fall Guide” for everything LOCAL!

We are excited to Showcase five outstanding LOCAL businesses whose stories exemplify hard work, passion, and community focus: Ab-Salute Fitness, Alio Protein Bars, E&W Precision Roofing, Libase Salon & Spa and The Seagate Grace Bay Residences. All have achieved remarkable success and serve as inspirations within our area. In addition, our “Women in Business” column in this issue turns the spotlight on Beverly Hills Hair Studio.

Take part in our Fall Word Find contest featured on page 28 for an opportunity to win an Alio 12–pack box of protein bars. Put your word-finding skills to the test and join in the seasonal fun! Showcase your child in our Cutie Pie contest for a chance to win the coveted title. Visit page 30 for all the entry details. Thank you for sharing your little ones with us!

Now celebrating our 29th year, The Showcase Magazine takes pride in being the original publication dedicated to our community. Our mission remains unwavering: to support LOCAL merchants by offering a cost-effective advertising platform—both in print and digital formats—enabling them to connect with their ideal customers.

As we say goodbye to summer and welcome a new season, we want to thank you for your continued support, which has been the cornerstone of our mission to highlight LOCAL businesses and professionals for nearly three decades!

Patti and I, along with The Showcase staff, send warm wishes to all our readers for a wonderful Autumn and a safe school year full of fun and new opportunities!

As always, we encourage you to SHOP SMART & SHOP LOCAL!

Women in Business: Beverly Hills Hair Studio

Dawn Coffin has always had a passion for hair and makeup. “I have two sisters, and I used to do their hair all the time,” she says. “It just grew into something that I loved enough to make it a profession.”

And make it she did. After working as an employee for Beverly Hills Hair Studio in Martinsville for 19 years, she’s been the owner for the last 11. “I bought it from the previous owner because I had built such strong relationships with all my clients, and I just love the area,” says Dawn. “I invested so much into it that I knew I could continue making it a success.”
